My Health Record is a free Australian Government initiative which allows you to manage your health information online. Your doctor, specialist, or hospital can then look up this record to assist in providing you with the best quality care. Once you sign up, you can allow health providers to add important information about your past and ongoing health, such as immunisations, medicines, conditions, allergies, and test results.
Your My Health Record is managed by you, and it remains your property. If you would like a document removed, you can permanently delete it or temporarily hide it. You can choose for certain information to be accessible only to specific people. My Health Record has stringent restrictions on who can access your information, and only qualified health professionals are eligible.
Jasper Medical has leaflets and factsheets on My Health Record available at reception. Our friendly staff can even register you for a My Health Record if you would like to sign up. Alternatively, you can visit www.myhealthrecord.gov.au to register yourself and view your existing record, or download the Healthi smartphone app to manage your information.
